866 fresh Covid-19 cases reported yesterday alone from 14 districts
A total of 866 COVID-19 patients were reported yesterday from 14 districts surpassing the total confirmed positive cases 7,000 mark.
According to the Government Information Department, with the latest 865 patients, the total cases from the Minuwangoda cluster increased to 3,682.
Out of the cases reported yesterday, a majority of 535 patients were reported from the Peliyagoda Fish Market.
In addition, five persons tested positive from Galle Fisheries Harbour, 20 from Beruwala Fisheries Harbour and 257 other close contacts.
The districts where positive cases were reported yesterday Colombo, Gampaha, Galle, Kurunegala, Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Badulla, Matara, Kurunegala, Anuradhapura, Puttalam and Vavuniya.
Meanwhile, 48 persons undergoing quarantine also tested positive.
Accordingly, the total number confirmed Covid-19 cases reported in Sri Lanka climbed to 7,153.
The number of patients recovered from COVID-19 increased to 3,644 with 83 recoveries reported yesterday.(Sheain Fernandopulle)
