Expedite supply of COVID vaccine to SL
Former Prime Minister and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested visiting Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to expedite the supply of the COVID-19 vaccine to Sri Lanka.
Sources close to Mr.Wickremesinghe said he made this request when he met the Indian Minister in Colombo yesterday.
Mr.Wickremesinghe has also stressed the need for close bilateral relations between the two countries in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic in the South Asian region like the rest of the world.
Both Mr. Wickremesinghe and the Indian Minister had a long discussion on the Pandemic situation.
Dr. Jaishankar had informed Mr. Wickremesinghe that he had already discussed about the supply of Indian vaccine to Sri Lanka. (YOHAN PERERA)
