Female MPs stand for DIG Bimshani

The Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus of Sri Lanka today extended their utmost support to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Bimshani Jasin Arachchi, who is the first female DIG of Sri Lanka.

This was said during a media briefing at the Parliamentary Complex today to voice their support for DIG Bimshani Jasin Arachchi.

State Minister Sudharshini Fernandopulle, MPs Dr. Seetha Arembepola and Rohini Wijeratne, and Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament Thushani Rohanadeera attended the media briefing.

Chairman of the Caucus State Minister Fernandopulle said they vehemently condemned the objections raised by certain individuals within the Police department against DIG Arachchi’s appointment.

She also stressed that the appointment of DIG Arachchi was a great achievement by a woman in a male-dominated field, as the Police department.

A group of male police officers has filed a fundamental rights petition at the Supreme Court seeking the annulment of the appointment of DIG Arachchi.

By protesting and passing wind, Male, corrupt incompetent, bribe maestro high or low ranking police officers of Sar's nincompoops are only accelerating DIG Bimshani's journey to the top of being the 1st woman IGP of SL !? Go..bimshani go.. be honest, straightforward, serve your country and show your male lollipop colleagues some high voltage wires. Hoo..hoo..!
