As Basil said yesterday only applications for membership received but NOT YET accepted as SLPP members. That is politics - of course sincerity questioned by one leg in each camp.

Someone has spoken. In order to democracy to work, the country needs strong opposition. TN A was not strong enough. During Mr govt. rw was the opposition. Whenever there was a crisis he is not in the country. As a result Mr government did anything and everything.

It not does not matter what chair their sit as long as its a chair in the parliament! This is the beyond the boundaries of greediness, this is the state of Sri Lankan Politics.

I don't get it. There is RW who has lost 29 times and still held on to his position. Anura Kumara or JVP leaders never go. Those who have no passion or hunger for power must not do politics.

How TNA was used to restore democracy, and now as usual they are thrown out. That is why we said at the beginning that TNA should have not involved in this crisis.

Application of MR was entertained and ceased to be entertained by SLPP. So, technically, he remains a member of the UPFA, which helped MR!

This is a mistake the Speaker is making. Speaker should follow the constitution. When a member of a party leaves the party and takes membership in another party, that too a party which did not contest the election he or she should not have a seat in the Parliament. In such a circumstances how can Mahinda be in the Parliament that too as the Leader of the Opposition? Only way Mahinda can be a member of the Party is by giving in writing to the Speaker that he is still a member of SLFP and not SLPP and this should be confirmed by the Secretary of SLFP.
