Three arrested while trying to flee to Italy, USA with fake visas

Three Sri Lankans have been arrested by the Immigration and Emigration officials at the Katunayake International Airport this morning while attempting to flee to the United States and Italy using fake visas.

The three suspects aged between 23 and 27 had come to the Katunayake International Airport to a board Qatar Airways flight.

Two suspects came to the Katunayake airport with the intention of flying to Italy via Doha, while the other, a 27-year-old resident of Jaffna was planning to travel to Doha, from there to London, and then to USA.

They all were identified as residents of Jaffna. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

We are in the process of selling some of our commercial assets and moving to Malaysia. I urge all Muslims to leave Sri Lanka - there is no hope for you. We can do much better in other countries - it won’t be smooth, but at least there’s some justice in foreign countries and you can earn in stable currencies.
