UK Minister raises concerns on forced cremation of COVID victims in SL ahead of Human Rights Council

Minister of State for the Commonwealth, the United Nations and South Asia Lord Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon raised concerns on the impact of forced cremations of COVID-19 victims on faith groups, justice & accountability in Sri Lanka ahead of the upcoming Human Rights Council.

The UK Minister conveyed this to Foreign Affairs Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in a telephone conversation.

“The UK & Sri Lanka are collaborating on climate change & trade. In my call with @DCRGunawardena today, I also raised concerns ahead of the upcoming @UN Human Rights Council, including the impact of forced cremations of #COVID19 victims on faith groups + justice & accountability,” Tariq Ahmad tweeted.

The burning of Covid-19 corpses affects not only one religious community, but the entire population of Sri Lanka. Everyone has to submit to the exception rules. The cremating arrangement is correct if there is even the slightest possibility of infection. The health of the entire population is more important than if some Muslims want to meet 72 huries (virgins) in paradise.

Those who are concerned of the health of whole population fail to understand what is happening to the infected covid patients discharges when it gets released to earth. Should they be burned alive for the uninfected to survive. So it is no point of making things clear on burial issue against mythical fools. That's why the 6.9million loyalists are wheeping silently now. Sorry nation.
