Genie Business with Kangaroo Cabs powers SL’s 1st tap-to-pay taxi service

Genie Business, powered by Dialog Finance PLC, has partnered with Kangaroo Cabs to introduce Sri Lanka’s first tap-to-pay taxi-hailing service, transforming in-cab payments. 


The passengers simply tap their Visa or Mastercard on the driver’s NFC-enabled phone, eliminating cash and the need for a POS terminal.


This marks Sri Lanka’s first customised tap-to-pay solution for a business, tailored to the taxi industry. The Kangaroo Cabs drivers can now accept in-taxi card payments directly on smartphones, making transactions seamless and hassle-free for both drivers and passengers. With Genie Business’ customised integration to Kangaroo Cabs, the drivers don’t need to manually enter fare amounts—the system automatically retrieves the fare, ensuring accuracy and speeding up the payment process.
