Top policymakers to speak at Sri Lanka Investment Forum 2021



 

The Board of Investment (BOI), Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) are all set to unveil the first-ever virtual platform in Sri Lanka to attract foreign investments and Asia’s first and largest virtual investor forum from June 7 to 9, 2021.  


The event will provide an overall experience and comprehensive understanding on the FDI and capital market opportunities in Sri Lanka. Directed with this purpose, the event schedule is enriched with 50+ sessions covering two time zones and expert insight from diverse industries.


Sharing perspective on policy and government, the event will carry addresses delivered by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and the guest of honour Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. 

The event will also see addresses by Justice Minister Ali Sabry, Money and Capital Market and State Enterprise Reforms State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal and Urban Development, Coast Conservation, Waste Disposal and Community Cleanliness State Minister Nalaka Godahewa. 


Day 1 will feature keynote speeches from Secretary to President Dr. P.B Jayasundara, who will deliver a keynote address on the national policy framework. Central Bank Governor Deshamanya Prof. W.D. Lakshman and Secretary to Treasury Sajith Attygalle will be part of a panel discussion on charting Sri Lanka’s economic trajectory.
Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Viraj Dayaratne, BOI Chairman Sanjaya Mohottala and CSE Chairman Dumith Fernando will also deliver keynotes during the Day 1 plenary sessions. 


Day 2 will include speeches from Principal Advisor to President Lalith Weeratunga, EDB Chairman Suresh de Mel, Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka Chairman Janaka Ratnayake, BOI Director General Pasan Wanigasekara, Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Chairperson Kimarli Fernando and Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka Director General Oshadha Senanayake, Trade Ministry Secretary J.M. Bhadranie Jayawardhana and Commerce Department Director General Ananda Dharmapriya will join as panellists in a deep-dive forum on trade while National Intellectual Property Office Director General Geethanjali Ranawaka‎ will participate in a session focusing on the intellectual property framework.


Day 3 will feature keynote addresses by ICTA Chairman Prof. Lalith Gamage and Central Bank Foreign Exchange Department Director Dr. A.A.I.N. Wickramasinghe, Central Bank Deputy Governor Yvette Fernando and ICTA Director/Legal Advisor Jayantha Fernando  will be part of sessions focusing on the banking sector and  cyber and data protection frameworks, respectively.
