HSBC Colombo Fashion Week (CFW) focuses on creating livelihoods and creating commercial opportunities for Sri Lankan fashion designers. Moving from strength to strength since its inception in 2003, HSBC CFW has built a reputation locally and internationally. CFW 2012 scheduled for 24, 25 and 26 February, is set to take things to a whole new level.
Prabath Samarasooriya did Sri Lanka proud by successfully showcasing two sets of collections ‘Expect the unexpected’ inspired by Sri Lankan eclectic culture and ‘Jassana’ inspired by the Jessana area in Sri Lanka.
The Electric Peacock Festival came alive at “The Light House” situated on Chaithya Road where the Grammy award winning Felix B of Basement Jaxx, Chicane, DJ Nihal, Asvajit and Tim made sure that the whole of Colombo was aware of their presence.

Sri Lanka Design Festival which concluded at the Mount Lavinia Hotel dedicated its first day’s showing to Sri Lankan craftsman and local talent. Among famous local designers such as Yolande Aluwihare and Darshi Keerthisena, there emerged local brands such as Kandygs and Dilly’s and young designers such as Prabath Ratnasuriya, KUR and Dimuthu Sahabandu.
