Anula who was born on September 21, 1947, made her stage debut in R. R. Samarakoon’s ‘Ledak Nathi Ledek’ in 1967.

She proved her prowess in stage plays like Rathu Hettakari, Tharawo Igilethi, Mahasara, Madhura Jawanika, Kuweni, Sri Wickrema and others.

She also excelled as a singer and film actress too.

She was married to veteran dramatist Lucian Bulathsinhala and was the mother of actor and singer Harsha Bulathsinhala.
