Veteran media personality, lyricist and tele drama director Sydney Chandrasekara passed away on Saturday at the age of 61.

The Colombo Ananda College old boy penned some significant songs including the popular ‘Negitimu Sri Lanka’ song that gained immense popularity. He also wrote theme songs for popular tele dramas.

He served in various capacities in several media institutions. His funeral took place yesterday.
