All students of the Divulapitiya School where the 16-year-old daughter of Covid-19 factory worker, tested positive, have been placed under self-quarantine, Public Health Inspectors Union of Sri Lanka (PHIUSL) said.

Its Secretary M. Balasooriya told Daily Mirror that the principal would take steps to provide residential addresses of the respective students for the Public Health Inspectors.
There are 1,318 students currently studying at the school.

He also said at least 98 individuals including students and teachers were to be subjected to PCR tests yesterday.

Accordingly, all the teachers and 40 students of the class where the infected student studied, have been instructed to undergo PCR tests.
The 16-year-old daughter of the COVID-19 patient detected from Divulapitiya on Sunday also tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Mr. Balasooriya said over 950 people, who had maintained direct and indirect contacts with the female garment factory worker who tested positive for Covid-19 from the Divulapitiya area yesterday, have been so far identified.   He said all of them had not been quarantined at the moment, but added they were in the process of placing them under quarantine.    “We are yet to identify more associates and accordingly, we would take prompt measures to place them under quarantine,” he added.
