Restriction on inbound travellers lifted from June 1 : CAASL

The Government has decided to lift the temporary restriction imposed on inbound travelers with effect from June1, the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) said.   

CAASL Chairman Upul Dharmadasa said the restriction on passengers who have been to India within the last 14 days will continue until further notice.   

“The total number of passengers allowed is not to exceed 75 plus tourists per flight and all inbound travellers should be mandatorily quarantined at a Quarantine Hotel/Quarantine Centre/Safe and Secured Certified Level 1 Hotel until the completion of 14 days as per the guidelines issued by the Director General of Health, irrespective of the type/number of vaccine doses administered,” the Chairman said.   

Sri Lankan passport holders and Dual Citizens will not require any approval to land in Sri Lanka, he said.   
Foreign nationals, Seafarers, Business, Investors etc. will require to obtain approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enter Sri Lanka along with the entry visa, Dharmasena said   

Tourists visiting Sri Lanka are requested to refer to the Tourist Board directions at http://www.srilanka.travel/helloagain/   

A negative PCR test report must be submitted by all categories of travellers prior to their departure at the point of origin as per the requirement of the airline/country, the Chairman added.
