Special Police, STF raid in Kilinochchi

• about 400 houses in several areas including Kandawalei and Dharmapuram were searched

A special operation was launched by the police and the STF in Kilinochchi following information that anti-social activities were planned in the area to coincide with ‘Black Tigers Day’ which fell on Sunday.   

Accordingly, about 400 houses in several areas including Kandawalei and Dharmapuram were searched and one suspect was arrested by the police. However, no weapon or suspicious items were found during the raid and police said they would continue operations in the future as well in suspicious areas. Security forces said they would be vigilant over any terrorist or terrorism-related activities in Kilinochchi.
