Temporary travel ban on eight more EU countries

Temporary travel ban was imposed on passengers arriving from France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria for two weeks due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said today.

This travel ban will be with effect from March 15, 2020 for two (2) weeks to March 29 2020.

The Authority earlier imposed a temporary travel ban on South Korea, Italy and Iran with efecet from tomorrow (14).

Accordingly, all airlines are strongly instructed not to board during the aforementioned period in any of their flights destined to Sri Lanka, any passenger who is either originating from the aforementioned States or who has been in any of those countries within the last 14 days.

Could the government kindly explain why no travel ban was imposed on passengers arriving from Sri Lanka? That will do a world of good to itself as the general public is totally confused about it at the moment.
