The Director General of Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe had tendered her resignation letter to President Maithripala Sirisena today.
The DG of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had in her letter said she wished to resign from her post with immediate effect.
The letter sent to the Presidential Secretariat was to be brought to the notice of the President who had returned from India around 4.30 p.m. today.
She declined to comment further on her decision to resign after her return to the country on Saturday after attending a one-week training programme in Malaysia.
However, the informed sources disclosed that she was disappointed by a recent statement made by the President who is reported to have said that the Bribery Commission, the FCID and the CID were functioning according to political agendas. (Kurulu Koojana Kariyakarawana)

It was expected long ago.Sri Lankan public service only recognises Yes Men. She will be not allowed to do a job by people in the dept.as corruption is part of society.Mahendra knew this in advance. So he made the brave move to play out the country in TB.

A lady with real guts. Straight forward, and unbending to the end The nation salute her for a job well done, even half way. She has more guts in her little finger than the backboneless politicians in their whole body, who came to power riding our votes promising to crack down on corruption. Most of them are no better than the bunch of thugs who ruled the country before them as they were part of them.

We appointed this president to make the people's will for a peaceful, just and corruption free environment a reality. All the while knowing that the breed of politicians in Sri Lanka can never be trusted. But then we also didn't have much of a choice. Despite this, we the people who gave you a mandate must rectify this situation immediately, apologize, step back and work according to the will of the people. And the people also have a responsibility in coming out hard and strong against the actions of the president - Not a god, not a king but a public servant, voted into power to do a job!

Corruption, drugs, terrorism etc are ongoing and it's takes time but what is most important currently is running the country to surplus by hook or crook. Even Tamil ltte terrorism took 30 years to end and their cells are all over the World supported by all Tamils. Bribery Commission should educate the people and get the peoples and informers help to prosecute Corruption slowly, and gradually. If politically motivated than it defeat is purpose.
