Former BOI Chairman Dammika Perera has been appointed as the Secretary to the Ministry of the Transport Official sources said.

Apart from his relatively short stint as the Chairman of BoI, Dammika Perera is a well known investor in the country’s stock market. He functions as a director in number of listed companies in the country including the blue chip, Hayleys and several other private banks.

Isn't he also the owner of several casinos? How is he expected to function as a secretary when he is pressed for time doing the rounds of his casinos, unless he video conference with the ministry staff.

The owner of a bus does not necessarly be he driver of it???? Well have you forgotten that it is the same person managed the BOI, very well inded, for a couple of years as its Chairman and General Manager
