The US can begin to import textiles from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh as they will never produce it in the US, Nobel Laureate in Economics, Joseph Stiglitz said. He condemned the current monetary policy of the United States and the European Union saying that they had contributed to the negative impact on global growth.

In Sri Lanka we are not producing Textiles for export market. Our export market is for made up garments.
