The inter-club rugby league tournament is set to be kicked off this weekend after nearly three years.

However, the tournament looks set to begin without a major sponsor as the organization that has been sponsoring this tournament for many years are yet to decide whether or not to sponsor this year’s tournament.

A source close to Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR) revealed that the tournament will go ahead this weekend but when questioned by Daily Mirror about the sponsorship the source said it was, ‘not confirmed yet.’

Daily Mirror understands that SLR are willing to organize the tournament even without a sponsor using its own funds.
