Turn your smartphone into your personal transformation hub.

I wholeheartedly embrace the incredible potential of manifestation, a subject that has been a recurring theme on my podcast. Moreover, I firmly believe that technology can serve as a catalyst to unlock one's inner potential and transform dreams into reality. Here’s how.

The practice of manifesting desires and expressing gratitude has gained significant popularity among Gen Z and millennials, especially during the pandemic. According to an article in The Guardian, in 2020, as lockdowns began, Google searches for "manifesting" increased by 600%. On social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, hashtags like #manifest and #manifestation have accumulated millions of posts and views. And teenagers and young adults, in particular, became prominent influencers in the online manifestation community.

With the younger generation at the forefront of manifestation practices, technology's role in this trend has become increasingly significant. Digital tools now serve as indispensable companions on everyone's manifestation journey. Manifestation apps like the "Law Of Attraction Toolbox App," "ThinkUp Positive Affirmation App," "Empower You: Unlimited Audio," and more offer a wide array of tools, exercises, and guided practices to aid users in focusing, visualising, and maintaining a positive mindset, making manifestation more accessible than ever.

From The Secret to modern manifestation

But what is “manifesting” all about and where did it all begin? One of the catalysts for this surge in manifesting practices can be traced back to the 2006 self-help book "The Secret" by Rhonda Byrne. "The Secret" became a cultural phenomenon, selling millions of copies worldwide and influencing a wide audience. The central idea of "The Secret" is the law of attraction, which posits that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into a person's life. In other words, what you think about and focus on will manifest in your reality. Essentially, the practice emphasises the idea that positive thoughts, when focused on specific objectives, can lead to the realisation of those goals. Manifesting often involves setting intentions, visualising desired outcomes, and maintaining a positive mindset. It's a belief in co-creating with the universe, with the caveat that manifestations should align with one's higher purpose.

Gratitude as a fuel

Shreans Daga, the driving force behind the Shreans Daga Foundation, which seamlessly blends the realms of science and spirituality, is a staunch advocate for the potent practice of manifestation. During a recent episode of my podcast, Daga passionately discussed the transformative potential of gratitude and its role in catalysing the manifestation of one's deepest desires.

According to Daga, 'Gratefulness is a great tool, even for manifestation.' He elucidated how gratitude serves as a powerful emotional conduit to connect with our inner selves, leading to profound shifts in our emotional states. “When we connect to our spirit being, we experience inner joy, inner happiness, inner peace, and that is our natural state,” said Daga. This inner connection, Daga emphasised, liberates us from fear-based and survival-based emotions, thus paving the way to connect with our source energy. Gratitude, he noted, triggers the release of serotonin and dopamine, the brain's happiness chemicals, infusing us with sudden and profound happiness—a fuel that propels the manifestation of our desires.

How can you use technology to practise gratitude?

As for harnessing technology to cultivate the mindset that facilitates manifestation, Sheetal Pansare, CEO of the tech company Futurism Technologies, says, "With the right apps and a commitment to self-improvement, you can leverage the potential of technology to enhance every aspect of your life. Numerous apps align with your personal growth objectives, whether they encompass meditation, mindfulness, or career development." Pansare recommends apps like:
