10-year-old girl found in a well

A body of a 10-year-old girl was found in a well at Shawasthipura in Anuradhapura this morning, police said.

The body was found by the Anuradhapura police following an investigation carried out on a tip off received to 119 call centre.

Police said they are searching for the mother of the child who is also believed to be in the well.
