“The Rajapaksa regime which has accused other leaders of earning money for generations has made this country indebted for eons in its bid to get an airport close to family home town. Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Rajaratne recently said in parliament that the monthly revenue of Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is approximately Rs.16,000.
