A total of 142 Sri Lankan asylum seekers from two separate smugglers' boats have landed at the Christmas Island, Australia yesterday morning, with at least one more expected last night, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.
As dawn broke yesterday, a small fishing boat with 44 Tamil men from Sri Lanka sat moored to a buoy just off Island’s harbor. Next to it floated a similar craft that had brought another 98 Tamil men the previous day.
Last week the island received 110 survivors from the boat which capsized last week in the seas between Christmas Island and Indonesia.
