Sri Lanka has registered a total of 150 COVID-19 infections over the last 20 days with 16 fatalities related to coronavirus, according to the Epidemiology Unit.
The health authorities said a majority of the deceased are above 70 years old and some are vaccinated while some are not. Further, all 16 victims had been suffering from chronic diseases.
The maximum number of deaths as three was recorded on May 07 while the highest number of single-day cases as 13 were reported on May 06 and 16.
Besides, the average of the cases reported over the last 20 days is eight.
As per the latest situation report issued by the Epidemiology Unit, the tally of the confirmed cases stands at 672,317 as of yesterday while total deaths are at 16,856.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka logged 13 fresh positive cases on Tuesday (16) pushing the active cases to 59. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
