Colombo, September 22 (Daily Mirror) - The People's Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) organisation's Execurive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi said today that the ongoing 2024 Presidential election has become the most peaceful election in history.
Addressing the media, he said that 108 incidents of violation of election laws were reported by today.
Hettiarachchi mentioned that the misuse of state property was very low during the election.
He also said that the police provided very good support for conducting the polls even when the Inspector General of Police (IGP) was not in the country.
Meanwhile, PAFFREL mentioned that the number of votes cast in this year's Presidential poll was between 75% and 80%.
