276 stranded Lankans in Australia arrive

A special SriLankan Airlines flight carrying 276 Sri Lankans stranded in Australia due to COVID- 19, arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake this evening.

The SriLankan Airlines flight UL-605 from Melbourne, Australia arrived at Katunayake at 3.35 pm.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Melbourne city is currently in lockdown and therefore the flight carried many stranded students who were in Australia for higher studies.

Upon their arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, all passengers were taken to the PCR tests and were directed to quarantine centers. (T.K.G Kapila)
