Following protests and unrests reported at filling stations, some 40 filling stations have been closed, the Petroleum Dealers’ Association (PDA) said.
Kapila Naotunna, the association's co-secretary, said several incidents of unrest were reported from Gampaha and Kalutara districts and also said that certain individuals have threatened the filling station workers and demanded for fuel.
Therefore, purchase orders placed for fuel by those filling stations were nullified, he said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
