495 centenarians in Sri Lanka: Siyambalapitiya

Parliament, July 11 (Daily Mirror)- There are 495 persons who are more than one hundred years old in Sri Lanka, State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya told Parliament today.

He said these persons are also entitled to the special allowance given to the aged.

"There are 2.7 million people who are more than 60 years old. The number of pensioners will exceed one milliln by the year 2030," he added.
