Audio: 5000 MT substandard diesel rejected

A shipment of 5000 metric tonnes of diesel imported by the Lanka-India Oil Company (LIOC) was rejected by the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal Limited (CPSTL) for not adhering to the quality of standard, official said.
CPSTL Spokesman Nissanka Jayawardane told the Daily Mirror that they had collected the sample of diesel on Friday and tests proved that it was not was not within the expected standard quality. “We have rejected the stock and ordered not to unload them,” he said.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the LIOC said that the said shipment would be returned soon.(Darshana Sanjeewa)
