Sri Lanka Navy arrested 80 persons illegally bound to Australia in a multi-day trawler in Point Pedro this morning, the Navy said
Navy spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said among those in the boat were 38 men, 18 women and 24 children.
He also said that they were residents of Jaffna, Point Pedro and Negombo.
They were being brought to the KKS harbor to be handed over to the CID for further investigations.
