All government schools countrywide would be closed tomorrow (15) ahead of the Presidential Election which will be held on Saturday (16), the Education Ministry announced
The Ministry said the decision had been made following a request made by the Election Commission that schools have to be utilised as polling or counting centres.
Accordingly, the statement noted that all schools would be handed over to Grama Niladhari offices after school hours on November 14.
The list of schools which will be used as counting centres for the presidential election on November 16 as follows:

Senanayake College and Royal College in Colombo - Paththalagedara Vidyaloka Maha Vidyalaya in Gampaha-Musaeus College in Kalutara North - Kandy Model School - Christ Church College in Matale - Gamini National College in Nuwara Eliya - Sujatha Vidyalaya in Matara - St. Aloysius' College in Galle - Suvi National School in Hambantota - Central College in Jaffna - Hindu College in Batticaloa - Sir John Kothalawala College, Maliyadeva Boys College in Kurunegala - St. Andrew's Central College, Fathima Balika Maha Vidyalaya, and Sheinan Primary School in Puttalam - Central College, Anuradhapura - Central College, Vishaka Girls' High School in Badulla - Royal College, Monaragala - Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalu Balika Vidyalaya in Kegalle (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
