All those who do not have my principles are my enemies, Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Chairman and former President Maithripala Sirisena said.
He said this while answering a question raised by a journalist after an event held in Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo recently.
"I have become the common enemy of former SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara and former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka because they do not have my principles," he said.
When asked about former President Chandrika Kumaratunga, he told the journalists that he had a meeting with the former president and had a cup of tea.
However, two former presidents encountered each other on Tuesday (26) at the 64th commemoration of late Premier, S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.
"As members of the SLFP, we have come together, and we do not have any issues," former President Maithripala Sirisena said.
When asked about former SLFP General Secretary MP Dayasiri Jayasekara, former President Sirisena said that legal action will be taken against him by the SLFP disciplinary board.
"We did not file court cases, but Dayasiri Jayasekara is the one who went to court against us.
"Therefore, he can withdraw the case and talk to us. He can resolve the facts in the charge sheet and can again start working with us. There are no obstacles to that," the former president said. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
