The DG of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption had in her letter said she wished to resign from her post with immediate effect.
The letter sent to the Presidential Secretariat was to be brought to the notice of the President who had returned from India around 4.30 p.m. today.
She declined to comment further on her decision to resign after her return to the country on Saturday after attending a one-week training programme in Malaysia.
However, the informed sources disclosed that she was disappointed by a recent statement made by the President who is reported to have said that the Bribery Commission, the FCID and the CID were functioning according to political agendas. (Kurulu Koojana Kariyakarawana)
