Bribery Commission nabs two Police Officers for soliciting Rs. 10,000 bribe

Narammala, Jan 17 (Daily Mirror) - Officials from the Bribery Commission arrested a Sub Inspector of Police and a Police Constable at a residence in Narammala yesterday on charges of soliciting a bribe amounting to Rs. 10,000. 

The arrest was made following a complaint by an individual in Narammala.

According to the Bribery Commission, the Sub Inspector and Constable had allegedly demanded a bribe from an individual engaged in the illicit liquor trade in Narammala. 

The bribe was reportedly sought in exchange for a promise not to pursue legal action in the future regarding the sale of illicit liquor.

The arrested suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Kurunegala Magistrate's Court.
