Colombo, Jan 06 (Daily Mirror) -  Minister of Power & Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has directed stern disciplinary actions to be enforced against Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) employees implicated in the recent three-day trade union action, causing significant disruptions to services.

The Minister has instructed the CEB's chairman to initiate necessary measures in accordance with relevant legal provisions.

This includes the suspension of duties for those employees found to have actively participated in the trade union action, which unfolded from January 3 to 5.

The trade union action primarily protested the restructuring of the state-owned electricity supplier and voiced concerns over the new Electricity Bill presented to Parliament.
