The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has recorded 52 statements in connection with the death of the Dutch Buddhist monk happened in Polgasduwa in Rathgama recently, Police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said two consultant judicial medical officers and a consultant psychiatrist have visited the scenes in the vicinity of the incident and have taken water samples from the lake for necessary tests.
“The CID is ascertaining evidence in respect of the incident. Judicial medical officers have informed that they were expecting certain laboratory reports on the dead body and once they receive the reports, the cause of the death could be revealed,” he said. (AS)
