COPF urges Finance Ministry to probe irregularities in imports of vehicles by expatriate workers

Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - Whilst highlighting that 66 percent of vehicles imported by Sri Lankan expatriates have been done through two vehicle importing companies, chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (COPF) Harsha de Silva said today that his committee has requested the Finance Ministry to probe these irregularities.
Dr. de Silva said irregularities have been revealed by the committee appointed by COPF to look into the matter.
“We have requested the Finance Ministry to probe the irregularities and take necessary action,” he added.
