Parliament, May 22 (Daily Mirror) - The Committee on Public Finance (COPF) requested Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to take action against officials of the Immigration and Emigration and those in the Ministry of Public Security who failed to attend the committee meeting on May 14.
COPF Chairman Harsha de Silva who requested action said all officials failed to turn up on May 14 despite agreeing to attend on that day.
"These officials have violated the privilage of Parliament," Dr. De Silva said.
COPF was to take up the visa fiasco on May 14.
