A committee appointed for working out preliminary arrangements for talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held talks with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today ahead of seeking Cabinet approval for them, a top government source said.
The committee is headed by Foreign Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris. Others are Justice Minister Ali Sabry, Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and Finance Ministry Secretary S.R. Attygalle.
The source said the preliminary arrangements proposed by the committee would be referred to the Cabinet for approval.
