Approval has been granted by the Cabinet of Ministers for the country's Domestic Debt Restructuring (DDR) program.
The approval was given at a special Cabinet meeting held this evening.
Sri Lanka is currently taking steps to restructure domestic debt in order to ameliorate the nation's financial difficulties.
Meanwhile, the President’s Media Division said in a statement that the domestic debt restructuring programme proposed by the Finance Ministry was approved by the special cabinet meeting unanimously which concluded this evening It further stated that all Government MPs were notified this regard a short while ago at the Presidential Secretariat and the next proposal will be submitted at the next Parliament session for discussion.
