Ceylon Shipping Corp. to lease 2 vessels to Singapore-based firm for 4 months

The Cabinet nod was granted this week to lease two vessels owned by Ceylon Shipping Corporation to Singapore-based Wallem Shipping Pte. during this South Western monsoon period (from June to September).

Ports, Shipping and Aviation Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva sought the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers to award the contract for operating of Ceylon Breeze and Ceylon Princess vessels under the commercial management methodology to Singapore-based Wallem Shipping Pte Ltd, based on the recommendation of the Cabinet-appointed standing procurement committee.

Valued at an estimated US$ 25.3 million, Ceylon Breeze is a bulk carrier that was built in 2016 with a carrying capacity of 63, 600 deadweight tonnage (DWT). Ceylon Princess which is valued at US$ 25.9 million is also a bulk carrier with a carrying capacity of 63, 213 DWT.
