Covid-19 death toll exceeds 100 with eight more deaths

Eight more Covid-19 deaths were reported today surpassing the toll of Covid-19 deaths in Sri Lanka 100 mark.

According to the Government Information Department, four females aged 87, 54, 78, 58 and four males aged 36, 83, 69, 70 are among the deceased.

Accordingly, the Covid-19 death toll stands at 107.

The details of the victims are as follows,

01. An 87-year-old female, a resident of Colombo 13 was reported dead at her residence on November 23. The cause of death was identified as cardiac arrest due to Covid-19 infection.

02.  A 54-year-old female from Dematagoda succumbed to the virus at Homagama Base Hospital today after being transferred from Apeksha Hospital. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 related pneumonia and severity of cancer condition.

03. A 78-year-old female from Maradana passed away at her residence on November 25. The cause of death was ruled as heart attack with Covid-19 infection.

04. A 36-year-old male, a resident of Colombo 15 was pronounced dead at the IDH today after being transferred from the National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death was ruled as chronic liver disease associated with severity in Covid-19 infection.

05. An 83-year-old male, a resident of Colombo 02 passed away at his residence. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 infection resulting in cardiac arrest.

06. A 58-year-old female from Colombo 10 was also reported dead at her residence yesterday (26). The cause of death was ruled as diabetes, chronic lung disease and Covid-19 infection resulting in cardiac arrest.

07. A 69,-year-old male, a resident of Colombo 13 was also died at his residence. The cause of death was ruled as Covid-19 related pneumonia.

08. A 70-year-old male from the Colombo Magazine Prison succumbed to the virus at the Prisons Hospital on November 25. The cause of death was identified as lung infection exacerbated by Covid-19 infection. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
