In a statement, the Commission clarified that applications for postal votes must be handed directly to the District Returning Officers by August 5. Applications submitted after this deadline will be rejected without review.
The Commission emphasized that applications will only be accepted if they are physically received by the deadline; simply posting them on that date will not suffice.
To assist postal voters, the Commission has mandated that the 2024 voters' lists be prominently displayed at relevant government offices. These lists are accessible for public viewing at all District Secretariats, Divisional Secretariats and Grama Niladhari Offices during regular office hours starting from July 26, 2024.
