Telecommunications Regulatiory Commission (TRC) said that service providers have been advised to temporarily restrict social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube etc following a request from the Ministry of Defence.

Access to social media sites have been blocked since last night.
