Colombo, March 25 (Daily Mirror) - Despite the showers at several places in the country, the National Meteorological Centre today issued a 'caution level' warning that the temperature felt on the human body is expected to increase in eleven districts.

Accordingly, the increase in temperature warnings is expected in the Western, North-Western, and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, as well as Mannar, Vavuniya, Anuradhapura, and Galle districts.

According to the heat index advisory, Mannar, Vavuniya, Anuradhapura, Puttalam, Kurunegala, Gampaha, Kegalle, Colombo, Kalutara, Ratnapura and Galle were mentioned as caution levels.

“People may suffer heat cramps and exhaustion and continuing activity in the heat or sun could lead to heatstroke,” the advisory warns.

The department also advised the public to remain hydrated and take breaks in the shade as often as possible.
They also advised checking on the elderly and the sick, who are indoors and not leaving children unattended. They also requested to wear lightweight, white, or light-colored clothing.
