Parliament, Feb 08 (Daily Mirror) - While expressing concerns towards the accuracy of data and figures provided by the Finance Ministry, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage urged the President, government officials and the Cabinet to exercise caution in trusting the Ministry of Finance.

During his parliamentary speech, Aluthgamage emphasized the necessity of scrutiny, citing instances where Ministry officials themselves admitted to erroneous data submissions to the Financial Fund.

The MP further highlighted a significant discrepancy of a thousand billion rupees between the data furnished by the Ministry of Finance and the figures intended for use in the recent President's address to Parliament.
