EC to meet striking Grama Niladhari officers

Colombo, August 12 (Daily Mirror) -  The Election Commission is scheduled to meet with the striking members of the All-Island Grama Niladhari Officers’ Association to ensure the smooth conduct of duties related to the Presidential election. 

According to R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, Chairman of the Election Commission, the officers had previously agreed to perform all duties related to the Presidential election despite the strike. 

However, the Commission has arranged this discussion with the relevant officers to prevent any potential disruption to the election process. 

The Grama Niladhari officers have announced their plans to withdraw from all duties today (12) and tomorrow (13).
