Earth tremor of magnitude 2.7 reported in Anuradhapura

Colombo, July 16 (Daily Mirror) - A minor earth tremor measuring 2.7 on the Richter Scale was reported this evening in the area between Anuradhapura and Kantale. 

The Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GSMB) confirmed the event, which occurred at approximately 6:30 PM local time.

Residents in the surrounding areas reported feeling slight vibrations, but there have been no reports of damage or injuries.

GSMB officials have assured the public that such minor tremors are not uncommon.
