The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) will question Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe on the Easter Sunday bomb attacks in Parliament next week, JVP MP Vijitha Herath said yesterday.
He told Daily Mirror that the party will question him during the session allocated for the MPs to question the Prime Minister on Wednesday. He said the questions were handed over to the Parliament Secretary General last morning.
Usually a member could question the Prime Minister on matters of interest during this session and then raise four supplementary questions depending on the answer.
Meanwhile, it was reported that the UPFA was also seeking a debate on the Easter Sunday carnage during the sessions next week.
However, the debates scheduled for next the week include Coconut Development (Amendment) Bill, Order under the Strategic Development Projects Act, Orders under the Special Commodity Levy, Regulations under Foreign Exchange Act, and the Resolution under the Customs Ordinance. Three debates namely, Orders under the Special Commodity Levy, Regulations under Foreign Exchange Act while the Resolution under the Customs Ordinance will be taken up on Thursday.
