The Education Ministry had decided to reconsider students' cut off marks released recently for the 2020 Grade five scholarship examination.
Ministry Secretary Prof. Kapila Perera said parents protested earlier claiming that they were disappointed with the recent Grade five scholarship examination cut off marks.
Therefore, the decision was taken following requests made by parents, he said.
He said parents were requested to reconsider the cut off marks and increase the enrolments without it, as they were higher this year.
Therefore, the Education Ministry has decided to temporarily postpone the admission of students to all schools based on the Grade five Scholarship Examination results.
However, the cut off marks will be revised soon in order to enrol more students, Prof. Perera added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
